RESEARCH INTERESTS
Directly probing localized optical properties of highly-structured nanomaterials and fundamentally understanding their property-structure dependence
Addressing fundamental questions concerning surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-mediated interfacial electron transfer (ET) and photothermal heating on the nanostructure surfaces
Applying the fundamental understandings to direct the rational design and construction of a new class of multi-component plasmonically-active hybrid nanomaterials for solar energy utilization, water treatment, and chemical and biological sensing (e.g., single molecule detection)
