X-linked KIAA2022/KIDLIA gene is a new autism gene. We have successfully created a KIAA2022 knockout mouse model which shows typical autism phenotypes as well as impairments in learning and memory. We find that loss of KIAA2022 results in suppression of dendritic growth, a decrease in spine number, synapse formation and synaptic transmission. We are investigating the underlying molecular mechanisms and also exploring means to rescue the molecular dysregulation and behavioral deficits in KIAA2022/KIDLIA knockout mice with the aim to provide therapeutic tools for clinical management of the disorder.

滿恒業(yè)教授,美國波士頓大學(xué)生物系副主任、博士生導(dǎo)師,生物系終身教授。擔(dān)任多家雜志包括Neuron、Nature Neuroscience等的審稿人,美國NIH、英國醫(yī)學(xué)研究委員會(huì)等基金的評(píng)審。兩次獲得美國腦與行為基金會(huì)的青年科學(xué)家獎(jiǎng)。主要科研方向包括突觸生成及可塑性,谷氨酸受體動(dòng)態(tài)分布及蛋白穩(wěn)定性的調(diào)節(jié)機(jī)制,神經(jīng)細(xì)胞形態(tài)發(fā)育,神經(jīng)發(fā)育性和退行性疾病等的細(xì)胞分子機(jī)制。在多種雜志包括Nature、Science、Cell、Neuron、Cell Reports、J Neuroscience、PNAS等發(fā)表文章70余篇。
